Compared to last week, steer calves under 550 pounds sold 2.00-5.00
higher, weaned calves 550-650 pounds were 5.00-10.00 higher. Heifer
calves under 550 pound were sharply higher; over 550 pounds were steady
to 3.00 higher. Yearlings type cattle were too lightly tested last week
for a market trend. However, a higher undertone prevailed. Market was up
and down this week with un-weaned calves seeing a discount due to
condition or lack of a full health program. The majority of the cattle
on offer were of attractive quality, several lots carrying plenty of flesh
and un-weaned. Feeder cattle supply included 55 percent Steers, 41
percent Heifers, and 4 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs
 was 51 percent.
